چکیده
The Edible Dormouse ( Glis glis ) is a small arboreal mammal that lives in deciduous forests much of Europe, the Iberian Peninsula being one southern limits its distribution. Some studies have shown this species uses strategy anticipatory reproduction, which means it adapts reproductive effort to seed production, such as beech mast and acorns, varies greatly from year year. anticipates future availability coming autumn modulates effort, acorns are crucial resource for young survive their first hibernation. This work aims determine correlations between annual variations climate effect on reproduction using 9 years data (2012–2020) two natural parks Catalonia (Montseny Montnegre-Corredor). These located at southernmost limit distribution Peninsula. results show productivity Beech trees Fagus sylvatica conditioned by local meteorological conditions pollen availability, acorn production oak Quercus sp. also affected conditions, but not availability. Additionally, breeding Montseny has high synchrony with presence seeds increases number offspring per female. encourage us conduct predict how populations will be impacted change.

متن کاملBIOLOGY, DAMAGE AND CONTROL OF THE EDIBLE DORMOUSE (Glis glis L.) IN CENTRAL ITALY
The remarkable increase in the number of colonies of edible dormouse (Glis glis L.) registered in the litoranean industrial cultivations of Pinus pinea L. in northern Tuscany over the last ten years and the grave damage to the production of pine-seeds consequent on it has created the necessity of studying systems which may reduce the dormouse menace. Going on what has previously been discovered...
متن کاملIsolation, characterization and PCR multiplexing of polymorphic microsatellite markers in the edible dormouse, Glis glis.
We isolated and characterized 10 dinucleotide microsatellite loci in the edible dormouse, Glis glis (Linnaeus). Four multiplex panels were developed. Loci were amplified in samples from two geographically distant populations (Torgny in Belgium and Montseny in Spain). All loci were polymorphic in Spain but four were monomorphic in Belgium. Individuals from Belgium and Spain exhibited an average ...
متن کاملTelomeres are elongated in older individuals in a hibernating rodent, the edible dormouse (Glis glis)
Telomere shortening is thought to be an important biomarker for life history traits such as lifespan and aging, and can be indicative of genome integrity, survival probability and the risk of cancer development. In humans and other animals, telomeres almost always shorten with age, with more rapid telomere attrition in short-lived species. Here, we show that in the edible dormouse (Glis glis) t...
